Coolum Primary School is located on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland between Maroochydore and Noosa in a pleasant, semi-rural, coastal area. It is about 1.5 hours drive north of Brisbane.
The enrolment is a little over 1000 students from Prep to Year 6 with 41 classroom teachers and specialist teachers in Japanese, Technology, Music, Physical Education, Resource Centre and Learning Support.
We offer quality education programs across eight curriculum areas with strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy.
An extensive sporting program is available to all our students in addition to special lunchtime sporting activities.
A modern Music Centre is also available to students. Children are able to participate in choir, instrumental music and bands.
Two computer laboratories are used extensively by students in Years 1 to 6. Students have access to the Internet and benefit from the latest programs.
Computers are also located in classrooms throughout the school and Prep.
At the annual canoeing and adventure camp, Year 4 to 6 students develop skills in camp cooking, canoeing, tent construction, hiking and learn skills relating to individual confidence and group dependence.

Coolum sure knows how to fire up the fun factor for Coolum Carnival! The annual fundraiser for Coolum State School is set for a rocking good time on Friday October 26, kicking off at 3.30 until fireworks just after 8.30pm.
Coolum Carnival is the event that truly brings the community together with all the fun of fast rides, fairground attractions, food and excitement for all ages. Taking centre stage will be the very popular Piglet Racing track, with a hugely entertaining race held each hour.
While the Carnival is the major fundraising vehicle that supports over 1,000 students, to Principal Pat Cavanagh it’s much more than that.
“This is a very important social event for the town. Ex-students come back to say ‘hi’, friends catch up, kids have a ball, neighbours and business people all get together.
“And we have the best fireworks, the biggest rides and a brand new Ninja obstacle course this year.”
Seasoned favourites like the dunking machine, mini golf and laughing clowns will be there. Special attractions only seen at Coolum Carnival include Pig Brother, Pluck-a-Duck and Smash-a-Plate.
They are so unique you have to be there to find out about them – and win lots of prizes at the same time.
Little ones can catch a yabby, pat a baby animal and have a tea cup ride while the big ones can zoom around on rides like the Kamikaze, the Scrambler and the RoundUp.
Everyone loves a bargain at the Lucky Bottles and Trash’n’Treasure , the silent auction and multi-draw raffles. There’ll be international foods, a mega plant stall, pony rides and go-karts to test your skills.
Parking is on the junior oval, entry via Barns Lane and admission is free.
