COMMUNITY ASSOCIATIONS
Sunshine Coast Area Consultative Committee
Area Consultative Committees (ACCs) are non-profit, community-based organisations funded by the Commonwealth Government.
The Sunshine Coast Area Consultative Committee was formed in 1995 and is one of a National Network of 56 regional consultative committees established by the Commonwealth Government to boost regional employment growth. Working in partnership with government, business and the community, ACCs identify and foster opportunities for jobs growth, skills development, regional growth and service delivery to find community-based solutions to these issues. ACCs advise the Commonwealth Minister for the Department of Transport and Regional Services (DOTARS) directly on regional and local employment issues and ways to improve jobs and training opportunities. Members of the Sunshine Coast ACC are drawn largely from the business community, with some general community, federal, state and local government members. The Sunshine Coast ACC is a very proactive and energetic organisation, which has established strong linkages, relationships and partnerships with key economic and business development groups throughout the region, including educational institutions and the media.
